Brig Hotels and Accommodation

Brig is a town on the Rhone River in the Upper Valais region of Switzerland. It is named for the three bridges that span the river here. Because it is at the junction of important routes through the mountains, this location was strategic for both military and commercial purposes. Settlement dates back to Roman times. If you come here for a holiday or just a weekend, Brig is a very good base from which to explore this part of Switzerland. Guests staying in Brig hotels can go out to visit the 17th century Renaissance/Baroque Palace with its three towers and cupolas named for the Three Kings in the Bible: Caspar, Balthazar and Melchior. They can also go to nearby Glis to see the 17th century Pilgrimage Church. The Lotschberg Tunnel is not far from here.
