City Center Brig

Brig is a town of about 5,000 people, located high in the Swiss canton of Valais, by the River Rhone. The town has preserved a great deal of its rich history. Most of its civic structures date all the way back to the 17th century, when the town grew wealthy as a result the Italian trade passing through the Simplon Pass. The city's older residential structures boast old Italian architecture, in a variety of 19th century styles. This city is also popular with skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, as the surrounding Alps offer ample opportunity for visitors to engage in their winter sport of choice. Despite its proximity Italy, Brig's most oft-spoken language is a variant of German.
