The city of Laussane, on the north shore of Lake Geneva, is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful communities. The city’s Old Town is a good place to begin a tour. It is dominated by Notre Dame Cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century. Among Lausanne’s several fine museums is the Musee Historique, which is housed in a 14th century building that was once a bishop’s palace.
