The town of Nyon is on the northwest shore of Lake Leman in the Swiss canton of Vaud. This lovely town was founded by Julius Caesar as a rest station for his soldiers. Now a statue of Caesar stands outside the Musee Romain, which is crammed with artifacts from the Roman period. Every year Nyon hosts the Paleo Festival (July); a six day rock-and-roll concert.
