Nyon is a town of about 17,300 inhabitants, situated in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is a suburb of Geneva, and actually stands along the strand of the lake of the same name, a 15 minute drive from the city itself. Originally, Nyon was among the most significants of the settlements that the Romans founded in the region. Ever since, Nyon occupied a position of some importance along the road from Geneva to Lausanne. Today, the town is best known for housing the head office of the Union of European Football Associations. It's also home to Switzerland's most successful rugby team, the Nyon Rugby Club.
One of the main attractions in Nyon is the so-called White Castle. Another attraction is the field of L'Asse, a venue for many public events including the annual Paléo Festival--a six-day music extravaganza, with acts by world-famous performers. For history, the best place to go is the Roman Museum of Nyon. Use EasyToBook.com to find hotels in Nyon suitable for your budget.
