Zurich, Switzerland, is truly one of the world’s great cities. Besides being an international headquarters for finance and industry, Zurich is also a beautiful city. Visitors will want to come back again and again, because there is more here than can be seen in one vacation, let alone a weekend. Zurich has an Old Town that would take days to explore properly. Here you will see the famous St. Peter’s Church, built in the 13th century. A must-see is the Swiss National Museum. The Zurich Toy Museum is also very impressive. For shopping, go to the Bahnhofstrasse, the city’s principal shopping street. The Rathaus, Zurich’s 17th century Baroque Town Hall, was built on piles right on the Limmat River. Other interesting historic buildings can be seen on the street called Limmatquai. Zurich’s Kunsthaus is Switzerland’s greatest art gallery, though certainly not Zurich’s only one. Another impressive gallery is the Museum fur Gestaltung.
