Located by the Lindenhof in the old town area of Zurich, the observation tower and telescope dome is easily visible.
The Observatory Urania, so named for the Greek muse of astronomy, hosts tours that are open to the public. Tours typically include educational information on the various planets and components of the solar system, as well historical aspects of the building itself. First opened on June 15, 1907, the observatory is now surrounded by the city, making it a very visible and highly recognizable landmark from the old town area.
