Ruammitr Village is the home of the Karen hill tribe that is located along the River of Mae Kok. These tribal people is one of the oldest one to be found in Thailand. They still raise elephants and prepare them for jungle work. They also do farming and hunting for a living. Many people visit this village which is one of the famous Chiang Rai attractions because of the house settlements that are made out of bamboos.
When visiting Ruammitr village, you can often see beautiful colored dye fabrics that are hanging out to dry. The beautiful sights of Chiang Rai Ruammitr village were added by sarongs, white shirts and headscarves. The women in the village have skills for sewing designs that display intricate details. The village can give a cultural experience that can take anyone back to the olden days. The people here are very hospitable and they can give a great tour of the whole village.
