Formerly called "Hat Khlong Haeng" which means dried up canal, Hat Noppharat Thara is the best place to have a picnic, to swim and to get lazy under the sun which is considered one of the best things to do in Krabi. This beach, lined with casuarinas and coconut trees, extends along the town of Krabi, giving visitors a scenic view of the sea. One of the main features of this beach spot happens during its low tide. It is when people can walk to the small islands that dot the side of the beach.

It is slowly becoming popular among the numerous Krabi attractions and thus a lot of new resorts are opening up for business along its seashore. The night is pretty much alive in the area because of the music and live bands that play here almost everyday. Getting in and out Hat Noppharat Thara is very convienient because there are several ferry boats that are available every hour coming from nearby ports.
