Dusit Zoo Bangkok
The Dusit Zoo that has the local name of Khao Din was established by Bangkok municipality in 1938 as a park and recreation center for the public. It is situated beside the parliament house and the Dusit palace. It was then a part of the Royal Dusit Garden Palace built by King Chulalongkorn, Rama V. Operated by the Bangkok tourism and government, the zoo was later turned over to the Zoological Park Organization in 1954.
Visiting the Dusit Zoo is one of the enjoyable things to do in Bangkok. Aside from just admiring the zoo's ground and seeing the animals like crocodiles, elephants, monkeys and giraffes, it is also a place for relaxation and recreation. As of the latest tally, it was home to two hundred mammals, thousand birds and almost a hundred reptiles. The Dusit Zoo is considered as the oldest and most popular zoo in the whole of Thailand.
