Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram or Wat Benchamabophit for short literally means Temple of the Fifth King. It was founded during the reign of King Chulalongkorn. It is known as the marble temple for foreigners because the structure is made of marbles. The design was conceptualized by Prince Naris. It has become a symbol for Bangkok tourism because of its perfect architectural symmetry.

The inside of the building is decorated with crossbeams covered with gold and bronze Buddhas that line the wall. The best place to visit is during early morning when Buddhist monks' chants can be heard. There are four sections within the compound. The Ordination Hall or Ubosot is one of the main features of this place because of its European style. There is also the Song Phanuat Hall, Song Dharm Hall and the Bovornvong Bell Tower, all connected by walkways. The compound is gloriously filled with artworks that bear religious significance making it one of the most popular sights in Bangkok.
