The Ramkhamhaeng University is a well respected university in Thailand. It was named in honor of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great of Sukhothai who was credited for creating the Thai alphabet. Considered to be one of the largest university in the world, its two campuses are considered as a Bangkok attractions. These grounds are open for visitors and some activities in Bangkok. The other campuses are located in Hat Yai, Chiang Mai and Khon Khen.
The Ramkhamhaeng University was the first one to become an open university. The university is composed of several faculties including Law, Business Administration, Libreral Arts, Medicine, Architectural, Humanities, Education, Science, Political Science, Economics and Engineering. In 1999, it has established an Institute of International Studies for foreign students. The university has a lot of notable professors coming from Canada, Europe, and the United States. They teach various courses that include Bachelor degrees, Masteral degrees and more.
