Cha Am, a small town located along central Thailand's Pacific coast is one of Thailand's premier beach resorts. This town is a favorite among American and European tourists and expatriates due to its excellent beaches and ample amenities. The presence of Webster University in Cha Am--Webster University is the only US institution of higher education to be located in Thailand--also contributes to this town's cosmopolitan, or at least, English-speaking, feeling. The town also has its share of notable Buddhist temples, including the Rat Charoen Tham Temple and the Wat Neran Chararam, with its famous statue of Phra Pit-thawan of the multiple limbs. Also of local interest is the Summer Palace of King Rama VI, erected near the outskirts of town in 1923.
The American presence here assures that there are a great number of hotels in Cha Am. The most sought-after Cha Am hotels are, of course, located right along the beach and can cost a great deal per night (even in Thai currency). However, there are also a number of cheap Cha Am hotels located further inland. Browse through EasyToBook.com to research Cha Am hotel options.
