The Phuket Museum is one of the most treasured Phuket-Kata beach attractions. It took forty years for the Patamakanthin brothers to collect the most sought after exotic seashells from Thailand and all over the world. Each shell is carefully selected on the basis of its quality and condition. This privately owned collection is proclaimed as the most extraordinary collection found. The displays are classified in a logical order and group according to the description of species. There are shells that originated from each country of the world.

The display has over 2,000 species of seashells and among the collection are the 380 years old fossils and rarest golden pearls. They say that to completely experience the island of Phuket, one needs to visit the Phuket Seashell Museum. After visiting this museum which is one of the popular sights of Phuket-Kata beach, there is small gift shop where lovely shells can be purchased as souvenirs.
