Ranong is a town in the small province of Ranong. Ranong began life as a Chinese settlement and visitors can still see the remaining clan house that is open to visitors and holds the relics of the Koh clan. But this part of the world has a lot to offer besides its cultural attractions. The province relies largely on its natural attractions and beauty that is, as yet, little known to many tourists. Ranong is six hundred miles south of Bangkok, and gets more rain than other parts of Thailand.
Ranong offers its visitors hot springs, and also has some wonderful marine parkland. If you do happen to visit Rangong, then don’t miss the beautiful waterfalls and mangrove forests. There are some hotels in Rangong, which is beginning to realise its own potential for tourism.
