The hotel is in istanbul.
Poorly situated and the directions from both www.easytobook.com and the hotel’s website are very poor—even taxi drivers had no idea where the hotel was located. the hotel is within walking distance of the tram but not the metro, unless you consider several km to be within walking distance with luggage and 90+ degree heat. the wireless internet connection did not work at all in the rooms and almost not at all in the hotel’s lobby, though there was internet available on a computer in the lobby which was 10x the price of an internet cafe directly across from the hotel. the www.easytobook.com website quoted the price in euros and a euro/turkish lira conversion rate was posted at reception but the manager on duty said the sign was not correct and that the correct conversion rate was 7.5% higher than that posted. the manager on duty informed a friend who lives in istanbul that he would not be able to visit me in my room but would have to await me in the lobby. the soap and shampoo in the room had both been used and not replaced since the last guest. there was no iron or ironing board available for guest use. the “minibar” was a warm dorm-sized refrigerator on the floor of the room. the hotel is located in one of istanbul’s least desirable neighborhoods. overall poor choice for anyone other than a backpacker and even then not a good choice as other hotels of similar quality and price can be found in the center of the city.
