Tea lovers will very much enjoy their trip to Rize, Turkey. Rize is a tiny province, one of the smallest ones in Turkey. It is located on the coast of the Black Sea, and the main industry of this area is tea. A great deal of tea is grown here, the verdant bushes all over the mountains. Head over to Ziraat Park to experience the best views of the tea bushes and Rize, and perhaps take some photographs of the area. Every summer, there is a Tea Festival in Rize, and during the festival you may want to sample last year’s Anzer honey crop, gathered from the mountains above Rize. Don’t miss seeing the Islam Pasha Mosque, built in the 16th century, as well as other ancient castle remains. In Uzungol, lakeside camping is permitted for those who wish to enjoy the great outdoors. Ayder has quite a few hot springs, and Firtina Vadisi boasts a regal castle and several bridges built during the Byzantine era. Restaurants in Rize serve many and varied Turkish dishes, and always strive to please the palates of their guests.
