Hotels in Turks and Caicos

    Turks and Caicos Details

Near the Cayman Islands, Haiti, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico is the small nation of Turks and Caicos. This country consists of a series of small and larger islands. Some thrive with wildlife, but not with humanity. On Little Water Cay, you will find only iguanas. On Pine Cay, there are only Cuban Pines. On Grand Turk, however, you will find ample evidence of human life. Turks and Caicos provide life at a slower pace than many of the other Caribbean Islands. The island group is definitely not a party zone. There are 33 areas set aside for protected status in the Turks and Caicos. These include Conch Bar Caves National Park on Middle Caicos. Here, underground caves feature long tunnels, pools of water and resident bats. At Flamingo Pond in North Caicos, you can see the ruins of Wades Green Plantation. If you visit Provenciales Island, you must go to Chalk Sound National Park and dip in the waters of Grace Bay Beach. Salt Cay Island is tiny but possesses a dazzling reef wall. While you are there, visit Balfour Town with old Fort Pleasant.
