The Dubai museum is a must see when in Dubai. Located in the Al Fahidi Fort, it features stunning exhibits of the countries amazing history and cultural heritage. Of particular interest at the Dubai museum are artifacts from graves dating back to the third millennium BC. The dioramas you will witness will take you back in time to life before the discovery of oil. You will see that the more things change, the more they seem to stay the same.

The Al Fahidi Fort itself is something of a historical icon. Built circa 1787 as a defense against invasion of the city, it was renovated in 1971 for use as the Dubai museum. You'll spend hours in the Dubai museum taking in the wonders of traditional Arab houses, mosques, date farms, souks and other breathtaking exhibits including pearl diving.
