One of the great traditions of Arabian culture is the souk, or market place. When you are looking for a cheap hotel in Dubai, near the Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a good area to consider if shopping is going to be high on your list of things to do in Dubai. The souk is designed to have an old-world market feel of an Arabian city, with paved walkways lined with different shops and booths. In some of them, you will find craftsmen at work creating the kind of cultural treasures that just might be the souvenir you want.

The souk is relatively easy to reach and could be in walking distance if you choose a cheap hotel in Dubai near the Souk Madinat Jumeirah. You could also take a water taxi to the souk. You may find that you want to visit more than the 75 boutique shops. There are also open plazas that are perfect for people-watching and 23 different cafes or restaurants where you can rest for a snack or for a full meal.
