Slains Castle is one of the most imposing medieval structure still standing in Scotland. Situated in Cruden bay this is a secluded location right on the edge of the North Sea. The castle itself was the inspiration for Bram Stroker’s Dracula and anyone who goes and visits the castle will be left in no doubt as to why this is the case. With the North Sea crashing against the rocks below this is a wonderful castle to go and visit if you have to time.

Because of its location the castle is not accessible by car but instead one must park at some distance and then walk along the coast line to the castle. However the walk is very pretty and once you see the castle it will become apparent that it was all worth your time. If you do go and visit be prepared for a good hard walk though through some lovely scenery
