The Oban war and peace exhibition marks for one of the must be visited monuments in the country of Scotland. This museum boasts an interesting collection of local memorabilia and photographs that show many aspects of the life of the town of Oban and Lorn through the years. There is also information about the strategic role played by the area during the WWII when Oban Bay was home to Flying Boats.

The museum was founded in 1995 as an exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the ending of the WWII. It has since been growing bigger and bigger and has developed the scope of its displays. The museum is a completely independent and is manned entirely by a team of volunteer watch keepers who always amazingly recall between themselves great many stories about the history of Oban. It has been a great storage place that has been preserving the culture and history of Oban.
