Berkshire is a county in southeastern England. Much of the tourism in Berkshire is due to the presence in this county of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the Royal Family; it is the largest inhabited castle in the world and dates back to the 11th century. Windsor Castle is one of the most popular Berkshire sights, though only part of it is open to the public. Other Berkshire attractions in Windsor include Windsor Great Park, originally hunting grounds for Windsor Castle, and Legoland, a Lego toy theme park for children. When visiting Berkshire, though, Windsor shouldn’t be your only stop. Head to the town of Bisham to enjoy sports activities at Bisham Abbey and to admire Bisham Church.

For some Berkshire culture, stroll through the Museum of English Rural Life, located close to the center of the town of Reading, as well as the Museum of Reading, which houses artifacts attesting to the history of the area. The town of Reading is actually an important commercial center, which means you can get some great Berkshire shopping done here. Other historical sights to admire in Reading include Reading Abbey, built in the 12th century, and St. Mary’s Church. There are many interesting things to do in Berkshire, especially if you’re planning on staying more than a weekend in Berkshire. Check out EasyToBook.com to locate suitable hotels.
