Cardiff (Province) Hotels and Accommodation

EasyToBook.com is pleased to be able to offer accommodation at discount hotels in the beautiful county of Cardiff in South Wales. This small county is made up of Cardiff city, the capital of Wales, as well as Cardiff Bay and the surrounding villages of Llandaff, Roath and Rumney. The hotels in the area provide an excellent base from which to explore the Welsh countryside and sights. Beginning from Roman and Norman influences, through the industrial revolution and the development of the coal industry, the city of Cardiff has grown from a small town into a thriving city. Nowadays, the city and the area offer, not only a quality shopping experience, but also the opportunity to explore historic buildings, peaceful parklands and a wide diversity of attractions.

Staying at one of the cheap hotels in Cardiff will provide easy access to Cardiff Castle, dating back to the 11th century. The castle was originally built from wood, but was later reconstructed in stone, during the 12th century. The city’s docklands, an area which went into decline in the 1970s and 80s, have now been transformed into a magnificent waterside development, Cardiff Bay, which features a large freshwater lake where visitors can take part in sailing and water sports. The area is home to some wonderful hotels, shops and restaurants too. Llandaff Cathedral is one of the oldest religious sites in the United Kingdom, dating back to the year 1107. Located on the outskirts of Cardiff city, Castell Coch is a fairytale castle which is a must for lovers of Gothic architecture. Cardiff also has its fair share of places which pay homage to its famous names. Not only was Terry Nation, creator of Doctor Who’s enemies, the Daleks, born here, but also Roald Dahl, the famous children’s author. Doctor Who fans can get a close-up view of some of the series’ monsters, costumes and props at the Doctor Who Exhibition at the Red Dragon Centre. The stunning Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay meanwhile, is where Roald Dahl was christened, and it has now been turned into a café and art gallery. Art lovers are advised to pay a visit to the National Museum in Cardiff, which houses one of the largest collections of Impressionist paintings outside of Paris, with works by Renoir, Monet and Cezanne all on display.
