For those United Kingdom tourists who are visiting the capital city of Wales, Cardiff, and want to see some of the impressive sites that the city has to offer, the Llandaff Cathedral is a great place to start your tour. One of two famous Cathedrals in the city, the Llandaff Cathedral is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, dating back to the 12th century and still remarkably well preserved to this day.
The Cathedral also offers some interesting history as there’s quite a bit of evidence for its originally being established by Celtics Christians. Over the years, it has been the sight of much strife as well, and has nearly been destroyed on numerous occasions, but just about every imaginable cause. As a result, the current structure has undergone a lot of renovations, especially after the most recent disaster: a sudden bolt of lightning that destroyed the Cathedral’s organ in 2007.
