Carmarthenshire (Province) Hotels and Accommodation

Located in the south west of Wales, Carmarthenshire’s three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford, with Llanelli having the largest population. With its green, rolling landscapes, the county is often referred to as the ‘Garden of Wales’. The highest point in Carmarthenshire is at Fan Brycheiniog, situated at 770 meters, whilst the south coast of the county features many pretty fishing villages and sandy beaches. The area offers many wonderful places to stay and EasyToBook.com can offer discount hotels to suit everyone. With so many things to do and see, you will be hard pushed to fit everything in.

Situated in the Tywi Valley, the National Botanic Garden of Wales opened in the year 2000 and is home to the world’s largest single span glasshouse; children and adults alike will be mesmerized by the exotic plants, the waterfall and the lake. At the National Wool Museum at Drefach-Felindre, children can try their hand at spinning wool, and at the Dolaucothi Goldmines near Pumsaint they can pan for gold. Children of all ages will also be fascinated by the county’s two heritage steam railways, the Gwili and Teifi Valley Railways. If you choose a hotel in South Carmarthenshire, you will be well placed to visit the small town of Laugharne, former home and final resting place of the writer and poet, Dylan Thomas. The town features charming stone built cottages, the town square with its ancient cross, St Martin’s Parish Church and a romantic 12th century castle which overlooks the beautiful Taf Estuary. Thomas’ home from 1949 until his death in 1953, the Boathouse, is now preserved as a museum and heritage centre. From hotels elsewhere in Carmarthenshire, visitors can explore Carreg Cennen, Kidwelly and Llansteffan Castles, as well as Talley Abbey. The Kidwelly Industrial Museum and Pendine Museum of Speed are also fascinating places for those with an interest in engineering. For a more relaxing day out, venture out of your hotel on to the superb beaches of Cefn Sidan, Pendine Sands or Llansteffan.
