Ceredigion (Province) Hotels and Accommodation

Ceredigion is a coastal county in mid west Wales whose main towns are Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Lampeter and New Quay. The highest point in the county, at 752 meters, is at Plynlimon, and it is here that five rivers have their source: the Severn, the Wye, the Dulas, the Llyfnant and the Rheidol. The latter meets with the Afon Mynach in a spectacular 100m plunge at the Devil’s Bridge chasm. Devil’s Bridge is also renowned for its unique arrangement of three bridges, built one on top of the other, and for its narrow gauge steam railway which climbs through the Vale of Rheidol from Aberystwyth. Although much of the east of the county is covered by the Cambrian Mountains, Ceredigion also benefits from 80kms of coastline with many glorious sandy beaches. Whether you prefer a coastal or inland location, EasyToBook.com has a wide range of cheap hotels to choose from in Ceredigion. As the county lacks any large commercial areas, however, whichever hotel you choose, you will be guaranteed a relaxing and peaceful vacation.

In the university town of Aberystwyth, visitors can explore the 13th castle, visit the Ceredigion Museum, described as having one of the most beautiful museum interiors in Britain, or take a ride on the Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway. Staying at one of the cheap hotels in New Quay, or taking a day trip there, will put you within reach of the town’s three beautiful beaches and two harbors, from where a small fleet of fishing boats still operate. Visitors can even spot the bottle-nosed dolphins which make Ceredigion their only permanent summer residence in the United Kingdom. Near Lampeter, another Welsh university town, is the village of Pumpsaint, the site of an old gold mine. The site is now managed by the National Trust and visitors can get a first-hand glimpse of the conditions endured by the miners in bygone days.
