The city of Belfast actually has two airports. There is Belfast International Airport near Aldergrove. There is also the recently renamed George Best Belfast Airport (after the footballer legend). It has been in operation since 1910. Regular civilian service, however, did not start out of the then Belfast Harbour Airport until 1938. Although mainly a domestic airport, it does offer international charter flights.
The George Best Belfast airport has one runway. Domestic flights go all across the country and into Scotland and other parts of Great Britain. Regular flights go to London, the Isle of Man, Cork, Jersey, Liverpool, Manchester, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Charter services in both summer and winter take passengers to Geneva, Salzburg and Verona. The airport terminal provides its passengers and guests with a variety of amenities. These include a newsstand, a bar, and a few restaurants and cafes. You can easily reach the terminal by any mode of transportation.
