At the Great Victoria Train Station, sharing a roof with the Belfast Bus Terminal, you can catch trains to anywhere in Northern Ireland and down south to Ireland. But do note, if you want to meet an arrival from Dublin or Larne, you will have to go to the Central Station. Belfast is part of a major corridor for Northern Ireland Railways (NIR). You can catch a train from Belfast to Derry (Londonderry) via Ballymena. This is a particularly scenic if slow route. You can also go to Bangor. Another popular route is from Belfast to Dublin. You will go through Newry, first. The most reliable service is on the Portadown, to Belfast to Bangor route. Taxis are usually easy to catch outside the Great Victoria Train Station.

The Central Train Station is on East Bridge Street. It is not very far from Waterfront Hall and the Ferry terminals. The Central Train Station receives all trains from Dublin and Larne. Trains arrive from Dublin here approximately 8 times a day and 5 times on Sundays. This is where you go to meet passengers from these destinations. This is where you disembark. Upon exiting the train, you can catch a free bus to Donegall Square or catch a connecting train to Great Victoria Street Station.
