Staff were nice, room was fine in a 'you get what you pay for' kind of way, location couldn't be better - call me simple but we loved the free biscuits in the room - nice touch.
The only negative thing i would say was that when you drop your key off, if the receptionist was on the phone it could be quite a while to wait. i understand this is sometimes unavoidable but when you're looking forward to going out you don't really want to have to sit through the receptionist telling the person on the phone the prices etc, etc, and have to wait. also, that particular phonecall we waited through, had i paid more than the price given out, which i hadn't, i wouldn't have been happy. maybe you could have a slot or something to post your key in if the receptionist is busy or they should be a bit better at multi-tasking. don't want to be horrible or anything but sometimes we did have to wait a little bit too long. the only other negative thing were there were a couple of rude guests at breakfast unable to stand the fact that we got to the room 30 seconds later than them but got our toast first! this upset us but i guess you can't do anything about the behaviour of your guests - they were so rude!

Slight cock-up over room booking was quickly resolved by helpful reception staff. rooms and guest areas are generally clean and comfortable, and staff are very polite and helpful. the collection of pop posters & memorabilia is amazing. the 'full english' breakfast is excellent for such a budget package! many rooms have a view of the sea or towards the park, and the hotel is very convenient for bournemouth centre - bic, shops & beach all within 10 mins walk. the hotel also has a car park, which is a big plus. my mother (79 years young) was impressed with the value for money and intends to use the hotel as a stopover for future theatre trips.
Some of the decoration is a bit 'tired' and would benefit from a refresh. we had 3 rooms, and 2 were fine, but our ensuite was very poor - a musty smell and lots of black mould in the shower cubicle and stained vinyl flooring. also the contents of the sink bubbled up in the shower tray when the plug was pulled! it all seemed to work though, but my wife didn't use it and shared the one in the other room!

Great bar with interesting music memorabilia.
Can only comment on the room i stayed in, needed updating and quite dirty.
