The ABC is one of the best known and most interesting live music venues in Glasgow. It is a standing only venue which increases the number of spectators that can fit inside dramatically. The venue is relatively new, having opened with a Jem concert in 2005. Since then it has made a name for itself as a premier live venue. The venue contains three bars, the Pod bar, the Mezz bar and the Polar bar, each offering its own atmosphere. The venue has a good reputation for security, which is taken very seriously by the security staff at the venue, and guests will be promptly ejected for getting rowdy.
There are two main concert venues at the ABC, ABC1 and ABC2. ABC1 has a capacity for one thousand two hundred and fifty spectators and is used for major bands, while ABC2 can hold 350 people and is used for less known bands or more intimate settings.
