Glasgow Queen Street Station is the second most important train station in Glasgow, after Glasgow Central, and is the third busiest train station in all of Scotland. It lies between George Street Cathedral Street Bridge street and also has access to the Northern end of Queen Street, where the street meets George Square. The station is also just about a ten minute walk from Glasgow Central which makes connections between the two stations extremely convenient.
The station has always served the north of the city and all inter city services north of Glasgow. The station also has a mainline link to Edinburgh which makes it an important commuter line between to two cities. Travel times between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh are constantly decreasing with further plans in the pipe line to develop faster high speed services between the two cities. Rail travel is already the fastest and cheapest means of travel between central Edinburgh and Glasgow.
