When one thinks of old London, one can’t help but think of steam power and the effects it had on Britain’s Industrial Age. Immortalizing this aspect of United Kingdom history and heritage is the Kew Bridge Steam Museum. The Museum is home to many exhibitions that preserve many parts of steam related history, including a vast assortment of engine types, including Cornish beam engines, a triple-expansion engine, and even old steam engines, long removed from service.

For those looking for a flashback to an earlier age, the Museum is also home to London’s only working steam railway. The miniature line runs around the perimeter of the Museum for a length of 400 yards and visitors can ride upon it, being pulled by the steam powered locomotive if they’re so inclined. Also of importance and worth noting are the massive engines at work within the Museum, providing part of its power.
