London Luton Airport

Luton Airport, earlier known as the Luton International Airport is the fourth largest airport in London. It is situated 35 miles northwest of central London in Luton, Bedfordshire. It is largely dominated by the airline easyJet. The Luton airport basically caters to the leisure traveller. Besides the budget airlines, the airport is also used by UK charter airlines. The access to the airport is easy with a wide choice of public transportation available, including trains, coaches, buses, taxis and car hire. If you wish to drive, you can find well-placed road signs posted along the way. The airport also offers a range of long and short stay parking. Being comparatively small, the Luton Airport has rapid baggage claim and short walks while boarding the plane. The airport also supports a variety of restaurants and fast food outlets, foreign exchange and all the other basics required at an airport. The Luton Airport has one terminal, which serves over 15 different airlines flying to over 60 destinations. A major extension to the new terminal building was opened in July 2005. With this the total passengers increased by 21.55 to 9.13 million in the year 2005.
