Trocadero is currently a tourist-oriented entertainment, cinema and shopping complex in Piccadilly Circus. Its key original attractions Sega World and its predecessor, the Guinness World Records Exhibition, closed several years ago, and in 2005 it was announced that there are plans to replace them with an office and hotel development. The London Trocadero is a grand centre of leisure, shopping, and entertainment. Opening in the late 1700's it always had a reputation as a famous landmark with changing faces, a variety of entertainment that attracts tourists, teenagers, office workers, and families.

The center is linked to Piccadilly station, with the main entrance on Coventry Street. Free events and activities take place within the centre regularly. In London the Trocadero Restaurant opened in 1896, which was formerly the notorious Argyll Rooms, where wealthy men met the ladies of the night. The new settings were magnificent in an Opera Baroque style, and the various Trocaderos of the English-speaking world derived their names from this original. Murals on Arthurian themes decorated the grand staircase, and the Long Bar catered to gentlemen only. During the grim days of World War I, the Trocadero initiated the first "concert tea"; After the war, cabaret was a feature of the Grill Room. The Trocadero closed on February 13, 1965. Follow the signs for London Trocadero from Piccadilly Circus Underground station and enter the building at basement level. Nearest over ground station is Charring Cross - go to Leicester Square and you can see Planet Hollywood on the corner.
