I booked this hotel through easy to book and although I was advised the hotel MAY pre authorise one night stay, they took one night, three times! Then the full value on the fourth time. But when I cancelled my card to get tem to stop and emailed why I was doing it, I was told I had 30 hours to send my new card details via email or else I would lose the booking. As the third party booking site was easy to book, I called them to complain and was advised to follow hotels instructions or I would lose the booking. Immediately cancelled under the free cancellation and they still took a pre authorisation! I would urge people to beware of this hotels policy.

 "Excellent location"
This was ideal for what we wanted to do during our trip to London. Hotel reasonable. Main areas and rooms clean. You get what you pay for - basic no frills hotel.

The hotel has a great location, its close to the tube and we l communicated. The room and service awould be ok for 80-90 pountd, but we ended up paying a lot more. I dont think Easytobook included all additional costs in the initial booking.

 "Would consider staying again"
We stayed here for 5 nights during the Paralympic games. Breafast is served to you room. Coffee, Toast and an egg. Had to eat on you bed as there is only a small des in the room. Beds were ok, we were generally quite tired so it wasn't much of a problem although air conditioning would have made our stay much more comfortable. Rooms were cleaned each day. Reception were friendly but not very helpful when it came to answering our questions about London. Location is great, 30 seconds to tube and we walked to Buckingham Palace easily too. Only problem was climbing 4 flights of stairs to reach our room.

 "Nice hotel"
This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff eager to help. There is no elevator and the walk up can be taxing for seniors with luggage. The internet was out for the first night we were there but they worked quickly to have it up by morning. You can't beat the location.

"Too expensive for what it offers!"
The greatest thing about the hotel is that it i is 2 minutes away from South Kensington Tube station. Our room was very small, very loud, and as the window was broken and the heating off, we were quite cole at night. The breakfast consists of 2 slices of toast with a tiny portion of butter and jam. The coffee is all right. All of it is served on a tray and put in front of your door . Breakfast has then to be eaten on a tiny table without your travel mates (as they are in an other room)....The rooms are definitely too expensive for the inexistent comfort.

"OK if you want a place to stayt near the tube station and you don't mind scary stairs"
I had plenty of room, my TV was OK, and the staff were friendly. It served me well as I only really needed a place to sleep near the tube station, wasn't bothered about climbing stairs carrying luggage, and look where I step.Breakfast consisted of a tray with toast and coffee on it left outside my door at exactly the time requested. There was no lift and the stairs were frankly terrifying. They were almost vertical and the carpet was mended with gaffer tape in some places. I had to go up 3 flights of steep narrow stairs to get to my room. I was concerned how quickly I could get out in the event of a fire. The tiles in the bathroom were split and cracked, and I nearly cut my foot open on a the cracked tile going into the bathroom. I think with a bit of effort, this could be a really nice hotel, but don't consider if you are not strong enough to carry your bags up four flights of stairs, or you are worried by worn out stair carpet or cracked floor tiles.

 "Well located"
Pros: Well located
Cons: Will always have some light from the corridor through the door, bit noisy and they don't turn the heater at night, it was really cold =/

"The hotel is an older victorian hotel"
Pros: The hotel is an older victorian hotel. the staff were helpful. the hotel rooms are very basic by american standards. the rooms are smaller, cable tv means you get 5 channels, the bed wasn't the most comfortable, but the location was ideal, easy to get around london and in a great area as a single traveller with restaurants nearby.
