I was surprised at how large the room and bathroom were compared with another, more expensive, hotel i had recently used in london. also breakfast was great value. friendly staff. 
Two almost trivial negatives. first, frequent sound of trains from nearby line might annoy some people. second, basement room ok but not perfect. Anonymous

Great location, easy to find, one staff member who checked us in was fantastic very helpful. i'd stay there again purely because of the location, access to transport/airport.Staff (all but one) gave the impression that we were inconveniencing them by coming to the reception desk. our floor didn't have any power points for a day, due to a blow out, so i had to dry my hair in the hotel foyer/recption. but it was eventually fixed. obviously being london the rooms a tiny, and there's no ac despite it being very warm, and unbearable on the top floor. the windows only open part way (they have safety locks) so you don't get much air, but we were greatful for the small fan.madsen

some staff (reception) friendly and helpful
location quite ok with all night supermarkets, fast food....location on central line obviously very good! 5 min walk to the underground station - lancaster gate!Most restaurants in vicinity very touristy not very good quality
not all facilities available that were stated! no satellite tv and no fridge!
cold and quite unfriendly breakfast room!
quite rude staff at breakfast
breakfast overall impression = one star at the most :)

Good location, clean, friendly staff, good price for location. good enough to rest your head without spending a lot of money.Hotel a bit shabby, rooms small and hot. you can hear a lot of paddington's street noise though the old windows at night. tube train rumble starts at 6am. the hotel could do with investing in double glazing.Lilley

When i booked the brunel hotel on line it said breakfast was included. but the repceptions said it was'nt and i had to pay £7.50 per day. also when i booked the room the price on the internet said €180 for three days. but the receptionist said it was €203. i was not inpressed !Anonymous

The bellhops were very friendly and willing to help. they answered any questions we had about london with honest enthusiasm which definately made a positive first impression. the hotel double room is simply a room and bathroom with few frills, and the elevator is tiny and slow, but the hotel is only a few minutes from the main paddington station with many resturaunts and international services (money exchange or wire, etc.) nearby. It isn't the rubens across from buckingham palace, but for 50 pounds a night instead of 150, it was excellent!Anonymous
