"Easy and comfortable"
The hotel was close to the KingsCross/St. Pancras station. Easy to reach from the Luton Airport and thoughout London by subway. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and enough to start the day.
I enjoyed the stay at the hotel, breakfast was a good start in the morning with as much as you want in sliced chicken and ham, boiled egg, yoghurt, juices, tea and coffee and toast with butter and jam available. The hotel was closed to Kingcross station and undergrounds. A little noisy from above bedroom from footsteps but all in all it was just what we needed to visit all the sights we wanted to see in London.

"friendly and clean, but worn"
Very small room, no table/chair. Old and worn; loose toilet cover, no hooks for towel or coat. But very friendly personel and after complaint about the (dangerous) loose toilet cover, we immediately got another room. Both rooms were clean, beds okay. Excellent location. Not too noisy although sirens of ambulances of the nearby hospital could be heard day and night.
Great location, near shops and train station you can pretty much get from there to anywhere in London. Very clean, fresh towels everyday, free wifi however was not a strong connection at times, helpful customer service when booking etc. however walls were thin and next door was loud not giving us the best sleep, breakfast was good, excellent heating. Overall good value for money and would recommend definitely would stay again.

"Purchase for the location, nothing else"
The hotel is close to Kings Cross, but this is the only benefit it gives. For £80/night, I was allocated a cupboard sized "double" room, with very little space for just myself, topped off with 80s decor and frayed carpets throughout the converted house (which also could do with a lick of paint and a clean, the mould on the walls is a little grim). The breakfast provided is your basic cornflakes and toast. However, my main sticking point for this hotel is the poor standard of service offered and the draconian request that you hand in your key everytime you leave the premesis. The staff just didn't seem to care for making anything be smooth or pleasureable, simply plaming you off as much as possible. The fact you were rudely asked to hand in your keys as well doesn't help - despite the fact I was nipping down the road for some dinner for 5 minutes, it was impossible to reason with the reeceptionist that "security" of my room wasn't really an issue here. It did feel like I was staying with a strict relative who had to keep tabs on me at all times. One saving grace for this hotel is the WiFi standard which was above-average.Overall though, at that pricepoint, I think you are seriously better off looking for hotels slightly further from a major terminal or paying a little extra and booking one of the numerous hotels in Argyle Square, which looked like they were run much more smoothly. Will certainly not be staying here in the future.

"Great location for good money"
This Hotel was in great location, close to bus and metro stations. Good value for the money. Rooms were clean, atthough very small. Service was good, special thanks to Inga from reception! Breakfast room was quite small, so had to stand in the queue for 15 min to get a place to sit if got in the rush hour. Otherwise very satisfied. Would suggest this hotel if you value money for a great location!

"staying"
It was a very nice stay and the owner was very enthusiastic doing what she liked to do: caring for people. It was clean and the breakfast was good. Only thing was that i could not pay by credit card because i don't have one, and had to confirm two times before i came that we would arrive and when. This doesn't fit with the lady's help and carefulness. I would recommend it certainly to family and friends.

"Steep experience"
While the location is good and with walking distance of the railway station. A tired traveller will not enjoy the steps that await your arrival to your room. Advise on the congestion tax would have been advised.
Gentleman at reception was most helpful and polite. Room was very tiny but I slept surprisingly well. Location is absolutely perfect, a four minutes walk to King's Cross so if you have to catch a train in the morning it's just ideal and ... absolutely inexpensive. Real value for the money ... but don't expect to find the Ritz!
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel but the things we would like the Elmwood Hotel to know, is:- the breakfast could have been a bit more "varied".- the wi-fi did not work on the upper floor.- it isn't easy to take a shower when you hardly get any water from the hose...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms small but clean. But that was what we were llooking for. A place to sleep in a safe area. We could not have asked for a better location. Near the underground and places to eat. Will use it again.
very basic hotel suited to my needs. My only complaint is breakfast which was all too basic and nothing like the 'full continental breakfast' promised. Very friendly staff however who were much in the same boat as me.
I was very decept by yhis Hotel : It is mediocre (no decoration, room very small and the beds too), a lot of mushrooms in the bathroom, boilet eggs cold !!!)But the personal is kindNever recommanded

"Simple Hotel"
Small bed with bad pillows.Location is quiet, but the small rooms are very noisy, not soundproof.Very simple breadfast (only white bread toast, green boiled cold eggs, fresh ham and cheese). No fresh tea!
Clean and warm rooms, hot water, a soft towel, good service, quality breakfast, center of London, what could we want more? Oh I forgot very good service! This place is to be recommended.
Nice stay. Room clean and homely. Kettle didn't work however. Breakfast excellent and promptly served. Would stay there again. Excellent value. Was woken up at 7.30 by noise from other rooms. Doors were a little too utilitarian for me could have done with a bit more character and paint. Put me off a little.
I was very pleased with my stay in the Elmwood Hotel. The room was very small but immaculate and had a small shower room and toilet . I also had a small balcony looking over Argyle Square, which was a lovely setting. I couldn't believe how central I was as the hotel was so quiet. The breakfast was basic but very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and really helpful. I feel this was excellent value for money and would book up again.
Hard to negotiate stairs with luggage as there is no lift. The room I had was a single room and no room to swing a cat. Toilet seat fell off, shower was one of those hand held type, and the toilet did not fully flush. Even at the lower price it was not good value.
The location was perfect, close to King´s Cross with all tube and bus lines. The hotel was a bit shabby though - it felt a bit old and the room was extremely small and had not been renovated for many, many years. As we lived on the top floor, we almost didn´t have any water according to low water pressure. Showering was an challenge.... Breakfast was pretty low-standarded .
