2012 London Olympics Track Cycling  will take place at the Velodrome, from Thursday 2nd to Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
The Velodrome is located in the north of the Olympic Park of London. The Velodrome was specially built for the London Olympics games. The track of the Velodrome has been raised with a 5 meters long Siberian pine, and is tilted at an angle of 42 degrees at its highest point.

The construction of the Velodrome started in 2008 and finished in February 2011. This building is the most sustainable building in the Olympic Park; the materials used were carefully selected. The Velodrome has 100% natural ventilation and because of that doesn’t need  an air conditioning. The design of the room makes optimal use of light from outside.
The building design also followed Chris Hoy and Team GB suggestions, they are both Olympics cyclists. The Velodrome has 6000 seats to accommodate spectators.
