Ivy House Hotel London

Do not expect too much and you will have a perfect address to stay! Good beds. clean room & lovely breakfast! To lower expectations: small bathroom, noise from trains (Victoria Station) & old setting....

The good things first - the hotel's location. 5 minutes walk from Victoria station but.... bad smell in the room, very smal room, no closet space, bathroom very small could not stand upright in the shower, poor breakfast.

Booked to stay here for two nights, the room was actually right beside the train track so we never slept, it was so stuffy we could barely breath. Dirty Dirty Dirty. The smell from the minuscule bathroom was disgusting. We did not feel safe at anytime!

The room was clean, with a tini bathroom but enough for a weekend. The location is excellent, two-minutes walk from Victoria station, and breakfast is modest but also good enough for us. So it is a good option when dealing with a reduced budget :)

Well, where to start! I arrived with my daughter to book in at the correct time.Which i booked well before Christmas 2012.With little explaination we were told we would be staying at another hotel. To do with maintence!!!!Very little understanding and poor English.Not only did i book this hotel purely for distance to victoria station, we now were not staying where we booked. To say I was worried was an understatement. No regard for the fact we two females alone.We then had a hoodie man take us on a 10 min-15 min walk to the other hotel.NO OFFER TO CARRY BAGS OR EXPLAIN WHERE WE WERE GOING!!!! I WAS VERY UNHAPPY! We were taken to another hotel, which was 15min walk from where we wanted to be. I complained alot and of course they didnt understand!!!!(or pretend not too) What a way to run a business! In the end they gave me a two pound discount! WOW!!!! i DIDNT HAVE A CHOICE TO GO WITH IT BUT i WILL NEVER GO NEAR THIS AREA AGAIN!!! The hotel was rubbish!!! I have stayed in better tents! I dont even think the hotel should be open when they have so much building work going on. We had to squeeze passed unhanged doors to get to our room! AWLFULL!!!!! There must laws for this sort of thing and if you need proof...photos to follow!!!!! So my advice dont stay here or the other hotel. (The Calton Hotel.) If you pay by card they will try and get cash instead! Such an upseting experience. Somemay say you pay for what you get but honestly this just took the mick! Hope offical's read this and go do a spot check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was absolutley disgusted with the smell of the hotel, i honestly wanted to leave before i even got to the room. the whole hotel smelt of indian food it was not a nice welcome at all.the only good thing was that the bedding was and smelt clean. the walls and carpet were minging. i didnt even want to take my shoes off let alone have a shower. cant beleive you can charge 56 pounds to stay in a place like this. i stayed in the end because i had no other choice but i am very dissapointed that you have these tipe of accomodations advertised on your website. the photos are nothing like the real thing, i feel ripped off.

The room was clean and besides Victoria station. Otherwise the price was much higher than what it really should cost. Small room, veeeeeeeeeery tiny bathroom, not what I had paid for, 80 pounds for this?, 50 tops, should be.

I loved this hotel. The rooms are small, but that is part of the charm. The people working there were very friendly, and knew me by name! Breakfast was simple, but kept me going all day... Loved my stay!... Love London!

Pros: Hotel location is excellent. the room was very cheap. fridge in the hotel.
Cons: Extremly small rooms,small corridors, toilet and shower are not in the room.

Pros: The location was good.
Cons: Actually they accomodated me at holly house hotel, though i had booked for ivy house, but they both belong to the same reception and owner, so it really did not matter.

Pros: They let me charge my ipod in their computer. that was a nice
Cons: They did not have the room i had reserved available. i had to stay in a room with no shower and toilet. the breakfast was very simple, not enough options.

Pros: Only positive thing is that the location is good

Pros: The staff let me use his phone to make an international call.
Cons: Internet was down while i was there.

Cons: Bathroom is a fibreglass pod. nothing rong with that except that it is well past its sell by date. very small.
