Brixton in London

If traveling to London, a stop in Brixton is a must. It is part of London Borough of Lambeth, in South London. You will find a wide range of things to do here. Today, Brixton is a lively, wonderful community that is home to London's Jamaican community. If you came to have a good time, you will enjoy what Brixton has to offer. It has a large area of clubbing as well as live music that is some of the best in the area. Consider visiting Carling Academy or The Fridge. Some of the small live music locations that are a must include Windmill and the Effra Tavern. Visiting Brixton also means a stop at The Market, on Electric Avenue. It was names this because it was the first street in London to have electric lamps. You will find products here from around the world including wonderful Afro Caribbean wares. Brixton has something for everyone. If you are traveling here, take some time to locate the Windmill that was built in 1816. Or, take a visit to the Stockwell Skatepark that is also located here. Get here by the Brixton tube station or the Brixton railway station. There are also buses that will bring you to Brixton as well.
