Located in the Whitehall/Westminster district, the War Rooms are reached via the Clive Steps, King Charles Street. This is a labyrinth of underground rooms that provides an intriguing look at the austere conditions under which Sir Winston Churchill, the Chiefs of Staff, and the War Cabinet operated during the Second World War. The British government literally went underground to escape the bombs of the Nazi blitz. From this cramped basement, they directed the defense of Britain and retaliations against the enemy.

When you leave your budget hotel in London near the Cabinet War Rooms and descend into this underground bunker, you will find yourself in another world. The rooms are equipped just as they were when Britain was fighting for its life. The Cabinet Room is arranged as if for a meeting.
