Located in the center of London and having a small village atmosphere is the borough of Pimlico, in Westminster. The shops are small and the locals are close-knit but friendly and helpful to tourists and travelers alike. A statue of the major architect for many of the buildings, Thomas Cubitt, stands roughly at the center of the area. There is a wide class difference here in Pilmico, being so centrally located that the upper class kids and lower class kids all go to the same schools, so there is some internal problems in the neighborhoods, but it hardly affects the tourist trade. This is simply a nice place to stop for lunch or a little window shopping on your way to somewhere else.

The entire area was once owned by one family, The Grosvenor, and is bordered by Victoria Station, making it accessible for the quick lunch and window shopping. The River Thames is to the south and Vauxhall Bridge spans across from Pimlico to Vauxhill. It has been the home to Sir Winston Churchill, Swami Vivekananda, and Laura Ashley. There are four pubs, virtually within walking distance of each other, that are worth checking out while you are visiting Pimlico. The Gallery is located at 1 Lupus St; Morpeth Arms at 58 Milbank, The Spread Eagle at 79 Grosvnor, and The White swan located at 14 Vauxhall Rd. Bridge.
