The staff there was tremendous. extremely friendly and genuine. definitely the high point of my stay there.
The hotel was listed as 2 stars. the room furnishings were bare. the shared bathrooms had leaky showers, and mold on the walls and ceilings. based on the low price, i didn't have high expectations, but this should be listed as a one-star, not two-star hotel.

I had read some bad reviews about the hotel before staying there, so we were prepared for the worst. however it turned it just fine. the room was very small but we only used it to sleep in. the bathroom and toilets outside the room were just fine, and we never waited in line to use them. the staff was extremely nice and friendly. we would always share a joke with them every time we were in the reception, so we had good laughs with them from the moment we checked in until we checked out. the location is fantastic. camden ton is only a 15 min walk from the hotel, and the tube is just on the other side of the street. we had a very good stay at the hotel and will definetely stay there again for the location, friendly and helpful staff, and the low price.
Rooms were very small. a lot of nice from the street and other rooms at night, that wasn't a problem for us however.

The room was very clean, as well as the facilities, and the staff was very friendly. location is great at a major junction of the public transportation.
The rooms are the size of a shoebox and there is a lot of noise from the street, but that's what we paid for so there isn't much to complain about that. the only major downsize are the beds which are very old and very uncomfortable which really fucks a decent night sleep.

It's right next to kings cross, so the location is great. the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
The beds are infested with bed bugs. both me and my travel companion got bites and rashes on both our arms which ruined the rest of our trips. it's been a week and i am still scratching my arms which are covered in red angry bumps. the bathrooms were messy and not clean. a lot of sinks were clogged and were not un clogged even after repeat complaints. there was no bed sheet changes being done throughout our 6 day stay. the carpet in the room was very dirty.

This hotel was everything it advertised to be. we had three criterion for a hotel: cheap, close to a train station, and clean. it definitely met those criteria. plus, the management was great~very hospitable, friendly, and enjoyable to visit with after a long day sightseeing. you do share bathrooms, but the bathrooms were very plentiful, and we almost never had to wait. we weeded through easily tons of hotels in central london before choosing northumberland and for the price, we do feel that this was a great deal.
Like i said, they did everything advertised. however that was it. there were no niceties. the room was small, lacking luxuries like a tv, fridge or phone and necessities like seating and a washbasin. the hotel itself was very old and the fire alarm went off numerous times in the first couple of nights. the radiator in your room is not self-regulated, which meant for a chilly first night, but the staff was on the ball and fixed it from then on. the bathrooms were clean, although they lacked hand towels and bath mats, and two of the showers consistently leaked onto the floor when used for more than five minutes. also, garbages were hard to find, even in bathrooms. but, we wanted to save money with the accomodations so we could splurge elsewhere on our trip, and this hotel was ideal for that. when you go to london, you're probably not looking forward to staying in your room all day. you'll get out there early (with the wake-up knocks that they obligingly provide) and have a great day then come back and crash. you need a safe, clean place to sleep, and northumberland definitely fit that bill.

We were informed that there is a special arrangement with da vinchi cafe that hotel guests receive breakfast for special price, but in the end we were charged for coffee separately, resulting in the same price as regular customers were charged.
