The sherlock holmes was a nice change of pace for a business hotel. the style of the places is warmer and more "homey" than the typical large chain business hotels, with many comfortable and quiet spots to sit and work, and accommodating and helpful staff. we had two meals at the hotel - late lunch and breakfast, both of which were good, and not overly pricey by london standards. within walking distance to the baker st. tube station, and just a short cab ride from paddington, it enjoys a great location.
I was both surprised and disappointed by my room, given the price. though clean,and with a comfortable bed and useful amenities (iron,kettle, desk), there was just enough room to walk around the bed - to sit at the desk meant pulling the chair right up against the foot of the bed. the room looked tired - carpet was stained, furniture dinged, and the bathroom sported a teeny tiny corner shower. for 230 pounds a night (with city charge, no breakfast or internet included) this was disappointing. just two weeks earlier, i stayed at the parkcity hotel in s. kensington, where internet and breakfast were included, the room was spacious and luxuriously appointed, and room service was available until quite late, all for about 55 pounds less. in short, if less expensive, the place would rank very high. Wonderful location. close to underground, train stations and london attractions. small hotel with great staff and a fantastic dining room and bar.The only complaint would be that the furniture in the room was damaged and there were numerous stains in the carpet but all in all nothing out of the ordinary for a very popular hotel.Birkett

Clean, comfortable, courteous staffWe were supposed to have a complimentary bottle of wine delivered to each room (2) but it was only in one, i had to ask for it the next day.

(la localizacion del hotel es centrica y las habitaciones estan limpias y confortables.)The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. on easytobook was a proce and in the hotel they charged me a different due to taxes and breakfast.
