Wax figures with oil paint cosmetics are found at the wax museum in London, first Madame Tussauds museum out of the branches existing in 12 cities. It’s their lifelike appearances that make them so fascinating to millions of tourists. The collection was originally started by Madame Tussaud of London and includes a wide range of well-known, important characters. The wax figures are sculpted by professional artists using photographs and over 250 carefully taken measurements. The London Planetarium is next door to Madame Tussauds.
The wax museum has celebrity, political, historical, infamous, and sports wax figures. Visitors can view figures of Michael Jackson, the Queen of England, Tony Blair, Kate Moss, Charles Dickens, Nicole Kidman and hundreds of others. New wax models are always in the works and the displays are regularly changed. The Chamber of Horrors recreates gruesome scenes such as a Jack the Ripper murder and a French Revolution beheading. The Grand Hall is a delightful collection of people from all walks of life.
