The county of Gwynedd in the northwest area of the United Kingdom was dubbed with the same moniker as the old Kingdom of Gwynedd. It is now known as “The Royal Town”, and is the home of Mount Snowdon and the Snowdonia National Park, the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, and Bangor University. Visitors to Gwynedd will also enjoy exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Exmoor National Park with its gorgeous landscaping and intriguing wilderness offerings. Exmoor National Park is a little different from other national parks. Citizens of Gwynedd actually own homes in and can live in the park. This makes the park quite special, and guarantees that there will always be friendly folk close by to answer a question or guide you to another section of the park if you need directions. The villages surrounding Gwynedd are a source of many fun and appealing activities. There are festivals, automobile shows, strong man competitions, and historic sites such as the Caernarfon Castle and the Talyllyn Railway Company.
