Merseyside is a county in northwestern England. There are a number of museums in this county, so you can easily immerse yourself in Merseyside culture. On Albert Dock, in Liverpool for example, you’ll find the Merseyside Maritime Museum, as well as Tate Liverpool, a branch of Tate (the national museum of British and modern art). There are a number of other Merseyside attractions in Liverpool; indeed, this city is a main center for tourism in Merseyside. Its waterfront has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site; other Merseyside sights in Liverpool include the Church of Our Lady and St. Nicholas, originally dating to the 13th century, and the Byzantine Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. You should also visit the Anglican Cathedral and the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, originally dating to the mid-1800s.
