 "Great Hotel"
We experienced very welcoming staff upon arrival. Check in was efficient. our room was in need of decorating, but was a good size and clean. The hotel is central, breakfast was delicious, an elegant hotel.

"An ok place to stay, nothing special"
Hotel looks grand on the pictures, and it probably was... 50 years ago! Now, it looks tired, carpets need changing, paint flakes off the window frames and radiators, kettle in the room very old and rusty- disgusting and perhaps dangerous. Not worth the money- it perhaps would be for no more than £60 a night. If I was again in the area I would stay at one of the local B&Bs instead.

 "Nice hotel, needs tlc"
This is a very nice looking hotel.....on the surface, but I found once you looked closer there were a number of issues with our room. Firstly the cushion on the sofa bed was completely torn open and it was all tangled with the springs of the bed. Both the arm chair and the sofa had tears and stains on them. The bed was broken in places, the paint was peeling off the radiator and the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. We also found a breakfast in bed card from someone who stayed in the room in 2010!However, apart from those points the size of the room was amazing for the price just those few points would need to be sorted before I would stay again

 "Not so Majestic"
The hotel looks like a hospital from the outside. You enter from the back and it doesn't feel special. All the staff we dealt with were lovely, helpful and friendly. Our room was huge and had all one would expect, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was good with lots of lovely soaps etc. The windows in our room were filthy and I'm not surprised with so many to clean. A staff door outside our room was really shabby and needed a coat of paint. We ordered room service one afternoon and the sandwiches were not very tasty and were rather dry and came without a napkin or cutlery. But the overall feel of the place is dated. The bar we used on both nights was very grubby with some of the cushions on the chairs turned upside down to hide the stains and dirt. There is a grand piano in the bar which when we asked were told no one ever played except the odd customer. What a shame it would have added something to the place. Breakfast was okay although the orange juice was not great. Again the staff were lovely and had a welcoming smile for everyone. We looked into the swimming pool but it wasn't very inviting so we gave it a miss. I'm afraid we wouldn't stay here again which is a shame as the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
