Kilgetty is a small village in the heart of the Pembrokeshire countryside in Wales. It is situated a few miles north of Tenby on the main A477 road. Famous for its glass blowing works, (The Avondale Glass Blowing Studio) its a great quiet place to stay, ideal for reaching Tenby in just a few short minutes. The glass blowing studio was originally set up in 1976 by Vicenzo Speranza. Vicenzo was amaster craftsman who learned and plied his trade in Germany, France, and Switzerland before making his home in Kilgetty. He passed all his skill and knowledge down to his son and grandson who now blow glass in his great tradition. Another popular tourist attraction is the Begelly Countryside Gardens and Monkey Sanctuary with its 12 acres of grounds including some lovely lakeside and woodland walks, the oriental style garden, some lovely water features and flower gardens, plus of the course the monkey sanctuary.
